Hey Baltimore! 👋

Summer is turning up the volume in Charm City this week! Between an all-day homegrown music festival, the 20th anniversary of Restaurant Week, a weekend Orioles series, and plenty of ways to cool off, there’s no shortage of reasons to get out and enjoy the city. Fair warning: it’s going to be hot — keep that water bottle close and pace yourself. Now, let’s get into it.

📰 Baltimore News Bites

  • Code Red Heat Alert: Baltimore City is under a Code Red Extreme Heat alert through Saturday — temperatures are dangerously high. Stay hydrated, check on neighbors, and take advantage of city cooling centers if needed.
  • Cyclospora Cases Climb: The Maryland Department of Health has confirmed 69 cyclospora parasite illnesses so far this year. If you’ve had unexplained stomach issues, it may be worth a call to your doctor.
  • Baltimore’s Ferals Play On: Despite a trans ban coming to rugby, Baltimore’s Ferals rugby team is refusing to sit on the sidelines — and their story is getting national attention. A reminder of what community-driven sport looks like.

Until next Thursday…

It’s hot, it’s humid, and Baltimore is still somehow serving up an incredible week. Whether you’re catching live music at the waterfront, dining your way through Restaurant Week, or cheering from the Camden Yards bleachers — get out there and enjoy Charm City. You’ve earned it.

Stay cool out there! 🧊
